Do you ever wonder how our club presidents always seem to have their act together? Well, I have discovered their secret, it's Kate Smith. Kate has mastered the art of handling behind the scenes detail with grace and confidence.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Kate to get to know how her life journey so, fortunately, delivered her to us.

Kate Grew up in Indiana but has been a resident of west Puget Sound for ~30 years. When her two children were quite young, Kate was thrust into the tough role of single parent. She describes being a single parent as "wonderful but challenging". Now an empty nester, Kate continues to support herself by bringing her "splatter shots of experience" to bear for a number of organizations, including BI Rotary. She currently works 7 days a week in diverse roles from Book keeping to preparing wallpaper samples to the very tough job of making President Robin look good.

Kate derives a great deal of pleasure in working with Rotary "I find dealing with the members so energizing". I think positive energy probably describes Kate the best; she has so much going on but gets so much energy from everything she does. Looking forward, Kate has a plan to take some weekends off, travel with friends, visit art shows and continue to develop her drawing skills.

Thank you Kate for everything you do for us.
